Mission & Vision

Founded in 2004, SwarGanga Music Foundation is dedicated to preserving, documenting, and promoting the rich heritage of Hindustani Classical Music.

Our Mission

SwarGanga exists to preserve, celebrate, and share the timeless art of Hindustani Classical Music with the world. Our mission is to digitally document, protect, and make accessible the vast musical heritage that has traditionally been passed down orally for centuries.

  • Preserve rare compositions, taals, raags, bandishes, artist lineages, and cultural traditions through high-quality digital archiving.
  • Educate & empower a global audience — especially children of the Indian diaspora — through structured, culturally authentic learning resources.
  • Promote young and lesser-known artists by providing them visibility, recognition, and opportunities on global digital platforms.
  • Bridge cultures by making Hindustani Classical Music understandable and accessible to non-Indian audiences.
  • Establish global standards for documentation, pedagogy, and terminology in Indian classical music.
  • Maintain accessibility by offering free and open learning tools, articles, recordings, and educational assets.

Our Vision

We envision a world where anyone, anywhere — from students in the diaspora to new listeners across cultures — can learn, explore, and fall in love with Hindustani Classical Music.

We aim to build:

  • The world’s largest digital repository of Hindustani classical knowledge — raags, taals, gharanas, lineage trees, bandishes, notations, and performances.
  • A modern global learning platform that preserves traditional values while using cutting-edge technology to reach anyone, anywhere.
  • A universal educational standard so students worldwide can learn with consistency and clarity.
  • A launchpad for emerging artists through online competitions, curated playlists, and visibility tools without requiring travel or physical stages.
  • A cultural bridge connecting India’s heritage with global communities and non-Indian listeners.
  • A future-ready ecosystem using AI-assisted tools for practice, notation, analysis, and intelligent music search.

Our long-term dream is simple yet profound: to make Hindustani Classical Music immortal — preserved forever, shared widely, and loved globally.
